Scientist I (Downstream) Job Description This position offers an
opportunity to join a dedicated team of Process Development
Scientists. You will contribute to the development, confirmation,
and transfer of downstream protein purification processes for
manufacturing, playing a crucial role in global operations.
Collaborating with customers, scientists, and various departments,
you will implement advanced solutions in high-quality
biopharmaceutical facilities. Responsibilities Perform laboratory
experiments to develop, assess, or transfer protein purification
processes. Gain experience using industry-standard technology such
as chromatography, filtration, and UFDF. Interpret client documents
and literature to strategize successful process development and
transfer activities. Communicate findings and discuss data
relevance with a multidisciplinary team including upstream,
downstream, and analytical scientists, quality assurance, process
engineers, and customers. Essential Skills Protein purification
Chromatography Biochemistry Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 1 - 2 years
of relevant lab experience. Ability to function in a constantly
evolving environment. High attention to detail and adherence to
standard procedures. Strong desire to learn new skills. Ability to
work independently with excellent communication and prioritization
skills. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through
Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. The role requires the ability to stand for
extended periods and perform repetitive hand motions, as well as
lift when necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire
position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay
range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility
