Inventory Coordinator


The primary responsibilities of this role, Inventory Coordinator, are to:

  • Coordinate and manage the Regulatory seed inventory functions;
  • Coordinate and supervise the seed material receipt, ensuring accuracy and inventory integrity;
  • Coordinate and supervise the shipment of seed for stakeholders while maintaining compliance of regulated materials;
  • Coordinate cycle count and disposal functions to enable an accurate and maintained inventory;
  • Demonstrate similar coordination proficiencies within the sample inventory functions where applicable;
  • Coordinate and manage all functions related to the bulk grain warehouse facility;
  • Assist with the sample kit process;
  • Coordinate and manage bulk grain cleaning or grinding/disposal;
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement and efficiency efforts within the Inventory Team;
  • Drive digital initiatives within the Inventory Team;
  • Record and analyze applicable key performance indicators (KPI) to ensure that issues are detected and addressed;
  • Provide freezer malfunction support, ensuring that freezers are sufficiently monitored and integrity is maintained in the event of freezer malfunction;
  • Coordinate and ensure all material prep SOPs, work instructions, forms, and job aids are updated as necessary and reflect the current processes, some routine to technically more diverse and sophisticated assignments;
  • Assist in experimental design and method development;
  • Serve as trainer for new inventory personnel, ensuring the compliance to requirements as stated in applicable SOPs;
  • Oversee and coordinate training progress and ensure trainees get signed-off by team lead as proficient in all applicable workflows;
  • Provide primary lab project or function responsibility and assume supervisory responsibility for third party contractors to ensure project completion at a high quality level;
  • Interact with other departments as internal customers;
  • Be accountable for accuracy and integrity of company-critical lab processes that significantly impact quality Regulatory research for submission to global agencies;
  • Be responsible for lab equipment, including maintenance and lab areas;
  • Demonstrates knowledge of specialized laboratory and scientific Techniques;
  • Be responsible for moderate to extensive problem solving including other team members when needed;
  • Ensures compliance with BCS safety, Bio Safety, and stewardship standards and traceability through appropriate quality management and information systems;
  • Coordinate and communicate personnel resource needs to management to ensure adequate support.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor s degree with four years of relevant experience, or Master s degree with one year of relevant experience or non degreed with 12 years of relevant experience and experience with seed or plant inventory management, material handling and shipping;
    • Strong process orientation;
    • Drives process development and compliance;
    • Be detailed oriented;
    • Be capable of understanding technical literature for problem solving;
    • Participate in problem solving requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning of diverse procedures;
    • Prepare technical reports and deliver interpretation of results;
    • Proven record of strong initiative/foresight, results orientation, and agility competencies;
    • Proven record of project management;
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
    • Be able to work both independently and collaboratively;

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for USDA, EPA, CFIA regulated biotech and chemistry products;
      • Working knowledge of GLP Quality Management Systems and /or ISO Quality Systems;
      • Execute multiple lab processes in a high throughput lab setting under tight timelines within an ISO 9001 certified quality program;
      • Experience utilizing MS Word, Excel, Teams, strong comfort level utilizing E systems. YOUR APPLICATION
