Lessen our losses as you expand your skills. Do you have a passion for preventing theft and the skill to observe and apprehend offenders? If so, you could be the trusted, reliable individual we'd like to join us as a Part-Time Loss Prevention Representative in the St. Louis area. As part of our loss prevention team, you'll travel to two different Dierbergs stores in the St. Louis metro area each day. Posing as a shopper, you will use your investigative skills to discover and detain suspects in an effective, professional and calm manner. Our ideal candidate is independent, decisive and detail-oriented. Additional responsibilities include:

• Coordinating professionally with law enforcement as the face of Dierbergs' security
• Providing education and training to associates on loss-prevention awareness
• Maintaining the video monitoring station on an occasional basis
• Monitoring compliance and associate activity in non-sales areas
• Completing paperwork and handling evidence for all apprehensions
• Appearing in court when requested to testify Why Dierbergs is different
  • Serving as a plainclothes detective for our stores, you'll enjoy autonomy while playing a crucial role in our company.

    • A strong interest in loss prevention is essential; monitoring and loss prevention experience is preferred.
    • Any work background is welcome, although criminal justice graduates, corrections officers and 911 or police dispatchers are often a good fit.
    • Yearly licensing by St. Louis County/St. Charles County is required.
    • You must be at least 21 years of age, with a driver's license and personal vehicle to travel between locations (we pay mileage between stores).
    • You'll need the physical stamina to be on your feet all day, covering ground as you cover the store.
    • You must be alert, self-motivated and able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
