your future with us. Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) is looking for an
Associate Reliability and Maintainability Systems Engineer to
support the design and analysis of state-of-the-art fixed wing
tactical aircraft in Berkeley, MO. The successful candidate is a
self-starter with the ability to plan, design, develop, and verify
a balanced life-cycle system solution is achieved within a
collaborative environment. Within this collaborative environment
the selected candidate will be tasked with performing critical work
in one or more of the major disciplines of specialty engineering:
Reliability & Maintainability, Systems Safety, and Human Factors.
The candidate may also provide systems engineering support to the
areas of affordability, human systems integration, survivability,
vulnerability, susceptibility, regulatory, certification, product
assurance, and system effectiveness Position Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer provided requirements and develop a
reliability engineering program to achieve customer reliability
objectives
- Allocate top level reliability quantitative requirements to
design teams. Performs reliability predictions to track
performance
- Analyze projected product utilization and calculates cumulative
effect on final system reliability of individual part
reliabilities
- Perform failure mode and effect analysis and formulates
mathematical models, to identify items posing excessive failure and
safety risks and support proposed changes in design
- Develop computer models and uses the results to analyze,
predict and adjust design to maintain and/or improve system
reliability
- Active participant on design teams, provides guidance and
recommendations to designers and management to ensure reliability
objectives are met
- Interfaces with the customer and management at major design
review meetings to provide reliability findings and
recommendations
- Determine test profiles for units requiring environmental type
testing and specifies specific objectives of the tests and defines
successes criteria
- Provide inputs to proposals for submittals to customers. Review
subcontractors' proposals for reliability program and submits
evaluation for decision
- Review engineering specifications and drawings, proposing
design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other
performance requirements
- Observe conduct of tests at supplier, plant, or field locations
to evaluate reliability factors, such as numbers and causes of unit
failures
- Monitor failure data generated by product users to assess
reliability performance in the field and develop strategies for
product improvementThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The
selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the
listed location options.This position requires the ability to
obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government
requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret
Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study
in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing
engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data
science, or computer science
- 2+ years of working experience with a Bachelor's OR a Master's
OR a PhDPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Fluent in MS Office Suite
- Prior aerospace & defense experience in one or more of the
following engineering domains - Avionics, Radar, Sensors, Hydro
Mechanical, Mechanisms, Structural, or Reliability &
Maintainability
- Military experience, while not required, is desirableTypical
Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired
through advanced technical education from an accredited course of
study in engineering, engineering technology (includes
manufacturing engineering technology), computer science,
engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.
Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or
an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or
non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is
the preferred, although not required, accreditation
standard.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on

Summary pay range: $81,600 - $110,400Applications for this position
