Job Description:


Oversee and manage current and future staffing needs for assigned region. Manage all requisitions for region to include generating applicant flow through regular refreshes, posting, executing approved marketing campaigns and in-store signage. Actively recruits, assesses and selects talent for store level roles. Primary point of contact for assigned stores; partners with Field Recruiting Manager in evaluating needs and executing staffing strategies.


  • Support and reinforce Dierbergs' company purpose - Grow Every Day while reinforcing the CPR model (Character > Process > Result)
  • Develop strong working partnerships with Store Directors and Management Teams to understand business objectives and candidate requirements
  • Conduct regular follow-up with Store Directors to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans, forecast for future openings and educate store management on the realities of the applicant pool
  • Communicate with Store Associates regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate referrals
  • Develop and execute recruiting plans for the region
  • Oversee maintenance of job postings and recruitment focused signage in each store location within the region
  • Build networks in order to identify qualified candidates and establish a strong reputation for the company to attract new Associates
  • In partnership with the Field Recruiting Manager, work with the advertising department on visuals needed to execute recruiting plans
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
  • Coordinate and implement college and high school recruiting initiatives and job fairs
  • Interview, screen, and select applicants who meet Dierbergs qualifications and standards to keep the company optimally staffed
  • Select, train, and develop a staff of In-Store Recruiters
  • Assist with new Associate orientations
  • Conduct assessments, provide feedback, and coach participants for Career Development Center
  • Able to appropriately challenge the norms and promote a new way of doing things that contributes to the successful staffing of the region
  • Special projects as needed
    • Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field of study
    • Prior experience recruiting required, prior experience recruiting within a retail organization strongly preferred
    • Prior retail management experience strongly preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Self-directed, proactive and motivated
    • Values diversity
    • Works collaboratively
    • Solid judgment and problem solving ability
    • Experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (Taleo experience strongly preferred)
    • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Must be able to travel between various Dierbergs locations
