Performs the primary function of a Registered Professional Nurse
in assessing, planning, implementing, educating and evaluating a
designated group of patients in accordance with all established
Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies. Is responsible for
managing all assigned personal supplies, and equipment on the unit
and for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team.
Performs duties in a manner consistent with our mission and

Coordinates all aspects of patient care following the Nursing
Process using age specific knowledge relevant to the patient
Creates and maintains a sterile field.
Documents all aspects of Patient care.
Plans/participates in Patient discharge from OR.
Participates in checking/maintaining equipment/supplies and the
Committee participation/Educational Activities/Special
Supervises other team members in care delivery.
Performs clerical/computer tasks.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri
Nursing Diploma or Associates in Nursing Required.
BSN or completion of BSN within 5 years of hire date is
Minimum of 2 years CVOR or vascular experience (prefer related
work experience to be recent - as within the last 2 years).
Employee is required to sit occasionally, stand continuously and
walk frequently. Employee must lift/carry a light (20# max),
medium(50# max) loads frequently and over 100# occasionally. with
assistance.. Employee is required to bend, squat, , climb, reach
forward and reach overhead frequently; kneel, lift from floor to
waist and lift waist to overhead occasionally. For repetitive
action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping
,pushing/pulling and fine manipulation. Employee is occasionally
exposed to the following environmental conditions: fumes,
radiation, electrical hazard and CRT terminal work. Employee is
frequently exposed to blood borne pathogens. May be needed to work
in other areas of the Surgical Services Department. May be needed
to work other shifts. (Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%,
Continuously: 67-100%) The most significant of duties are included
but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned
or developmental duties.
Job Relationships: Member of a nursing unit that interacts
regularly with patients, physician, families and visitors and a
variety of nursing and ancillary personnel.
