Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,946 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required License: Must have an active state license in hand or be in the application process Certifications: BLS required; CNOR and CST preferred Must-Have: - General OR and trauma experience required - Level I trauma experience required - Required case experience includes laparoscopic assisted cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical), mastectomy, thyroidectomy (partial/total), whipple, cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, closed/open reduction of fractures, organ donation, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy - Required emergency management skills include code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia - Experience with electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords Description: Position in the operating room. Shifts consist of 4x10 hour days in a high-volume operating environment. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the operating room. First-time travelers will not be accepted. Weekend coverage is required once per month. On-call duty is required, approximately once a week. Candidates must float within their skill set, though this occurs rarely. All requested time off must be approved by management. The facility operates 23 rooms and provides patient care across all service lines except cardiovascular. Travelers must demonstrate proficiency in administering blood products, infection control protocols, specimen handling and labeling, and universal protocol procedures. Candidates must have experience in trauma care management, and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Knowledge of Cerner is preferred for charting, but experience is job-specific. Candidates should possess essential skills to address various surgical procedures spanning multiple specialties. Candidates are expected to maintain compliance with health safety protocols throughout their assignment. All applicants must demonstrate a commitment to patient care and teamwork.
