Outpatient Health About the Specialty Care Clinic The Specialty
Care Clinic at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, located on the 4th floor of
the Center for Outpatient Health, offers a wide range of
specialized medical and surgical services. This clinic provides
expert care across various fields, including: - - Dermatology -
Neurology & Neurosurgery - Orthopedics (Foot & Ankle, Hand,
Reconstruction, Spine Surgery, Trauma) - Otology Staffed by
resident physicians completing advanced training and advance
practice nurses, the clinic focuses on providing exceptional
outpatient care, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. It
serves a diverse patient population, many from the St. Louis
metropolitan area, and aims to provide accessible, high-quality
care to all, including those with Medicaid and uninsured
individuals. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. - BJC Registered Nurse Career Ladder: - The BJC RN

new job description. Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington
University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and

Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time
academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University
School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents,
interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its
excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first
adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by
the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Surgical Specialty
Clinic consists of a total of 13 clinics - Ortho Spine, Ortho
Trauma, Ortho Recon, Ortho Foot and Ankle, Ortho Hand, Plastic
Hand, Plastic Recon, General Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery,
ENT-Head and neck, ENT plastics, and Otology. The clinic runs 1/2
day to whole day clinics Monday thru Friday from 0800-1700. We are
closed on weekends and major holidays. The staff consists of RNs,
Clerical, and the Resident Physicians who rotate through our clinic
for their outpatient educational experience. The clinic sees about
13,000 patients a year. We treat a range a medical problems from
fractures, minor excisions, evaluations for surgery, etc. Preferred
Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities
including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and
evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities - Promotes patient and family centered care in a
healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to
manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care
needs and medication administration. - Participates in activities
that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
Participates in professional development. - Develops, implements,
and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in
collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and
patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established
guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and
ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of
care. - Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate
physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards
of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in
care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and
population-specific needs. - BJC has determined this is a
safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state
of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this
job. Minimum Requirements Education - Nursing Diploma/Associate's -
Nursing Experience - No Experience Supervisor Experience - No
