•Location: Saint Louis, MO Job Summary: Provides direct and
indirect care to the surgical patient within the scope of practice.
Supports the department through operational efficiency within
specialty area. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures patient safety through compliance with
rules, regulations, policies and procedures which result in zero
preventable errors. Works in collaboration with others to improve
patient, employee and physician satisfaction. Participates in the
creation of a financially effective facility through the efficient
utilization of resources. Supports the care of the patient through
the provision of timely supply management and accurate physician
preference lists. Functions as a member of the team through active
participation in staff meetings, committees, and special projects.
Demonstrates and promotes the principles of relationship based care
through the development of health relationships with patients,
staff and physicians. Works in a constant state of alertness and
safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Graduate
of a technical program for operating room technicians EXPERIENCE
Three years' experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Constant use of
vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify
and distinguish colors. Constant use of hearing to receive oral
communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms,
malfunctioning machinery, etc. Constant lifting/carrying and
pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Constant standing and
walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects
weighing 25-50 lbs. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Frequent
bending, stooping, reaching and gripping. Frequent use of clear
vision at 20 inches or less. Frequent use of speech to share
information through oral communication. Occasional lifting/carrying
and pushing/pulling objects weighing over 50 lbs. Occasional use of
clear vision at 20 feet or more. Occasional use of sitting,
squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Occasional keyboard use/data entry. Rare kneeling. REQUIRED
PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS State of Work Location:
Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin Basic Life Support
HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
And Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of
Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Or Tech in
Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Or National Registered Surgical Technician (NRST) - American Allied
Health Association (AAH) Work Shift: Variable Shift (United States
