This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management. The IR Nurse works closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal procedural outcomes. /n/nEssential Work Functions:/n/n /n/t - Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results/n/t - Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care/n/t - Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety/n/t - Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures/n/t - Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling/n/t - Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary/n/t - Provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education/n/t - Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details/n/t - Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care/n/t - Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards/n/t - Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice/n /n/nRequired Essential Skills:/n/n /n/t - Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills/n/t - The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required/n/t - Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills/n/t - Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending/n/t - Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism/n/t - Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment./n/t - Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
