Job Description:

Position Objective The Manager Safety Standards and Audit, North America will be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of best-in-class standards, tools, training programs, and audit protocols that will prevent and mitigate serious injuries and fatalities across North America and ensure compliance with country regulations and Bunge global standards. The position will have 4 direct reports, be a member of the Bunge global safety standards and auditing network team to ensure collaboration between regions and drive our North American team to operate as One Bunge . Reports to the Director Safety, North America.The main priorities of the position:Work with internal and external subject matter experts and operations to keep safety standards and training materials current, technically accurate and best in class. Partner with operations to deliver transparent audits that will assure adherence to Bunge values, standards and safety-first culture.Maintain monthly metrics to track, trend, and measure safety performance from audits, incidents and proactive activities across the plants and divisions.Essential FunctionsDefine and communicate safety standards and practicesStay engaged with the latest safety trends, best practices including SIF prevention, and understand how to translate into effective standards and actions in Bunge operationsDrive human and organizational performance (HOP) and critical risk management by incorporating the principals into our cultureEnsure audit process is effective at identifying the adequacy of high potential exposure (SIF precursor) control through a combination of physical observations, leadership effectiveness analysis and employee interviews at industrial operation locations Active member of the North America safety council and global safety standards and auditing network team Monitor methods and make recommendations to improve safety audit corrective action tracking and ensure system provides information to operational and safety leaders on effective closure of audit findings Challenge teams and individual employees to improve safety practicesEnsure standardized HPE training materials and tools are provided to the plantsManage the EHS talent pipeline and development programResponsible for managing the proactive and reactive monthly safety reportsBe prepared to actively participate, lead, or support serious incident investigation process. Either remotely or through short notice travel. Lead or participate on audit teams for operational sites and due diligence assessmentsSkill/Experience Requirements:Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Occupational/Industrial Safety, related field, and/or 10 years of experience in Agri-business and exposure in the safety function and deep expertise in safety practices.Proven experience influencing people, plants, and peers and working across matrix organizations.Demonstrated strong implementation/execution skills Ability to engage with other employees at a more strategic level to articulate Bunge s safety vision and priorities.Fluency in English 35-50% US and Canada travel required, which may include occasional weekends away.
