Experience Program (SWEP) Location: Community-Based (varies by
worksite) Status: Temporary/Seasonal (Summer Program) SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday, Starting May 18, 2026. 9AM-1PM PAY: $20.00
Per Hour Job Purpose The Job Coach for the Summer Work Experience
Program (SWEP) provides individualized, on-site support to students
with disabilities who have obtained summer employment through UCP
Heartland’s Employment Resources Department. The primary goal of
this role is to help students gain meaningful work experience and
develop skills that prepare them for the adult world of work, while
promoting maximum independence on the job. Position Overview Under
the general supervision of the Transition Coordinator and/or
Manager of Employment, the Summer Job Coach works directly with
participating students in individual or group work settings. The
Job Coach supports students in learning job tasks, meeting
workplace expectations, and achieving personal employment goals by
supplementing the supervision and training provided by the worksite
supervisor. This role also serves as a liaison between students,
employers, coworkers, families, and UCP Heartland staff, helping to
foster positive working relationships and natural workplace
supports. Key Responsibilities Support up to five (5) students in a
group work setting at a community job site Provide individualized,
on-the-job training until all job duties are clearly understood
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students at all times
Monitor student work performance, productivity, and quality Be
present at the job site every scheduled workday Arrive 15 minutes
early to ensure students arrive and know where to report Remain
on-site until all students are picked up, unless prior written
release is provided Work independently with minimal supervision and
demonstrate strong problem-solving skills Assist and collaborate
with worksite supervisors as needed Provide positive behavioral
supports and address workplace challenges appropriately Maintain
regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student
progress and concerns Attend all required trainings, including but
not limited to: First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens Abuse/Neglect
HIPAA Complete all documentation, data collection, progress
summaries, and reports accurately and on time Submit weekly
timesheets and required paperwork in a timely manner Maintain open
communication with job site staff and UCP Heartland leadership
Transport students as needed; must have reliable transportation
Maintain valid vehicle insurance meeting State of Missouri
requirements Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills,
and Abilities Experience providing individualized supports to
people with disabilities Ability to adapt teaching strategies to
different learning styles Sensitivity to employer expectations,
including dress codes and workplace standards Strong communication,
organization, time management, and planning skills Professional
customer service and public relations skills Ability to educate
employers about the program and participant capabilities Commitment
to high satisfaction for employers, participants, and families
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma required (some college
preferred) At least one (1) year of experience or training working
with individuals with disabilities Ability to work up to 25 hours
per week for up to 8 weeks Must complete a physical screening and
PPD test Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work,
Special Education, or a related field (preferred, not required)
