Description Dana James at Robert Half Finance Accounting Permanent Placement is partnering with a St. Louis client who is seeking an Assistant Controller. This company offers a hybrid schedule, and a family friendly, stable environment. As an Assistant Controller you will support the CFO by performing accounting functions such as general ledger journal entries, month end and year end close, financial reporting, financial analysis, supervising staff, process improvement, and other responsibilities as assigned. Candidates for this Assistant Controller role should possess their Bachelors Degree, CPA, 10+ years full cycle accounting experience, budget/forecasting/analysis experience is a plus, prior supervisory experience, ERP knowledge, strong Excel, and strong communication and presentation skills. • Experience with Supervisory Oversight
• Foundational knowledge in financial reporting
• Month end closings experience preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
• Deep understanding of year end closings
• Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Progressive accounting experience
  • Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
